I got there about 8:30 AM and there were several hundred people ahead of me awaiting the 9:00 AM opening. The AK variants, SKS rifles, and AR style rifles were represented there in substantial numbers at 2-3 times there former prices in some cases. Some dealers had only bumped their prices slightly.
There were large numbers of other style firearms with moderate price increases over all, and the occasional rampant gouger. A 1942 Tula 91/30 that was all electro pencil matched @$350.00. I saw a 900 rd case of 8mm Mauser ammo for $500, a 2000 rd box of M855 for $1999.00, a CMMG loser parts kit for $200.00. I passed on all of that. A spam can of 7.62x54 @ $200.00.
I bought 8 raffle tickets for $20.00 that will hopefully win me a Springfield M1A and the proceeds will benefit various endeavors supported by The Leatherneck Club of North Texas such as The Wounded Warrior Project, Toys For Tots, etc.
Shortly before leaving I stumbled on a dealer from Mississippi who also had some CMMG lower parts kits for $80.00 so I bought one from him....
Overall I was pleasantly surprised that there was as much ammo and firearms at the show as there was. As noted prices ran the gamut from moderate increases to attempted highway robbery, but they can't make me buy. When I left at about 2:00 PM there was still a substantial line outside waiting to get in. I would guess 50 or more. I went to Saltgrass and ate a steak I was depressed. lol
