A Million Times installation by Humans Since 1982

A Million Times is an installation by Swedish duo Humans Since 1982 that will be presented by Victor Hunt at the coming Design Days Dubai.

The installation is made of 288 two-handed analogue clocks powered by 576 electrical engines to drive the minute- and hour hands independently from each other. The individual clocks create one giant display similar to that of a digital display.

The 576 rotating hands form nice texts and elaborate customized patterns and graphics.

Simply titled ‘the Clock Clock’, brilliantly re-contextualizing time in a mix of old and new, analogue and digital, the original clock is made of 24 traditional two-handed analogue alarm clocks stacked on top of each other. Six square clocks make up a number, each of them displaying either one of its corners or one of its sides. All 24 clocks create one giant display similar to that of a digital watch, says Per Emanuelsson & Bastian Bischoff of Humans Since 1982.
