Square Enix is preparing an HD two-games-in-one reissue of the original Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, to be released in North America this fall as a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Sticking to the series’ unnecessarily weird naming conventions, Squenix is calling this compilation Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX. The ‘ReMIX’ part of the title is what’s most important, as it signifies that this HD re-release contains the content of the Final Mix version of Kingdom Hearts which up to now has been available exclusively in Japan.
In addition to the Final Mix content (new weapons, enemies, missions, cutscenes, etc.), ReMIX will contain cinematic story scenes from Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days remastered in HD, plus trophy support and “enhanced gameplay mechanics.”
Whether you’re a Kingdom Hearts virgin looking to see where the Disney-meets-Final Fantasy mash-up franchise got its start or a returning fan who’s long been lusting for a U.S. translation of the Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is a game you’re going to want to remember to put on your wish list for the holiday season (even if there is that thing called the PlayStation 4 also coming out.)
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Finally Coming West (and in HD!)
